Support our Staff
Our county employees are the backbone of everything Clay County provides. If our staff are fairly compensated and valued, then a lot of other things take care of themselves. I support:
• Preserving all benefits of our current employees, including pensions, health benefits, and retirement packages.
• Support collective bargaining for our workforce. Workers fought for the right to collectively bargain, and I will respect and uphold that right as commissioner.
• Back up our experts in their work.
We have talented employees who made service to our residents their life’s work. I trust their judgment on issues that impact them and their work.
Bolster our Services
Our county services help those in need. From public safety to income-based assistance programs, Clay County helps countless residents on a daily basis.
• Preserve and invest in our vital assistance programs. Vulnerable populations rely on these programs, and I believe the role of good government is to help its most vulnerable residents.
• Assist our public safety professionals to ensure a safer Clay County for all. We’re nothing without safe communities, and our county commission should prioritize smart public safety investments
• Invest in our infrastructure. Roads, highways, bridges, intersections, flood mitigation. Every corner of our county’s infrastructure should be maintained and safe for the needs of our public.
