Community Minded,
Proud Progressive

My family history is steeped in public service. My great grandfather, Orlin S. Pratt, served on the Clay County Board of Commissioners for decades. My mom, Rochelle Dahlquist, served on the Moorhead City Council from 2018 to 2022. My dad, Joel Powell-Dahlquist, teaches Criminal Justice and Sociology at MSUM.

I’m proud to have such a deep family connection to public service, and it would be my deepest honor to continue in that service for the residents of Clay County.

I grew up a northsider in Moorhead, attending Washington Elementary, Voyager, and Robert Asp. I even graduated from MSU Moorhead with a degree in Art Photography and a Philosophy minor.

Nowadays, I own my own business, consulting local and state candidates with their political campaigns. Public service really has my heart. Prior to starting my own business, I’ve worked multiple cycles for the Minnesota DFL, and organized for countless local and regional campaigns.

I’m also proud to have served as Clay County DFL chair, as well as having served on Moorhead’s Charter Commission.
